I have worked with special needs children as an internship through school, but have babysat children who are autistic and have had some other problems. There is a teenage boy that was born with fetal alcohol syndrome. He is pretty high functioning, but likes to watch movable doors and ride elevators. The simple things in life. I also enjoy being around special adults as well. Everything is so new and exciting for them. I love to see their excitement and how much they enjoy life.
