I have always been drawn to individuals with disabilities, and and am so passionate that I decided to make my cognate at Michigan State University "Adapted Physical Activity". Most recently, I have started an internship post-graduation with Challenge Aspen, a non-profit that "makes possibilities for people with disabilities" where I primarily work with individuals with cognitive impairments. I was also a home care provider for a man with quadriplegia, a man with mobility impairments where I guided him through PT and OT exercises, and had a job at a Respite Center where I cared for individuals with both physical and mental disabilities. Additionally, I volunteered with the Adaptive Sports and Recreation Club at Michigan State for about 100 hours. I also took a class at MSU where I got to coach/teach a girl with Down Syndrome in swimming. I thoroughly enjoyed each job. I would love the opportunity to come into your home and see if I could be the fit you are looking for.

I reached out to Marie to see if she would babysit for our 11 year old son (with ADHD) for several date nights while we were in Avon for a long weekend, as our planned caregiver fell through. Marie was a great communicator, held a phone interview, provided a reference, and was prompt. Our son enjoyed her energy and warm personality, we enjoyed her sticking to his schedule and keeping consistency in his evenings. She reported out their nights in detail, he was sad to see her go. We come to CO several times a year, and have let Marie know that we would enjoy working with her again!
