I have worked in a child care center for five years now and in those five years we have a had full of autistic children come through. In having the chance to work with these specific children I have really developed a passion. Autistic children are very unique with each one being quite different, with unique characteristics. I feel like they have so much potential if they just have the right attention they need. Watching them grow and improve over a period time is so rewarding to see, it makes everything else worthwhile. Aside from Autism I have worked with children with Down Syndrome and ADHD, among other behavioral/and developmental problems. hiking, playing on playgrounds, the beach, camping, to throwing a Frisbee in the park. As cheesy as it may sound I love my job and when I am at home (not in school) my time is almost always spent working. Like I said I love working with children, and children with special needs and behavior issues that much more. I guess you can say, I enjoy a challenge, looking forward to the outcome down the road.
