My background in elder care began as a voluntary position for a 92-year-old woman in Basking Ridge and lasted for 7 years. As her needs increased due to health issues, I was brought on by her attorney to care for her. I provided full-time care for 3 years until a financial decision was made to move her into assisted living. I have had three seniors since that time. One who was bedridden that I cared for until her death last year. The second was a temporary position caring for a woman with a fractured pelvis and the third was a fill-in position that has been extended. My husband and I have raised two boys 18 and 16. One is at the University of Massachusetts on a football scholarship and the other is at St. Peter's Prep in Jersey City. I am looking for a position for roughly 40 hours per week but would be flexible if the right position was presented. I am available M-F and some weekends if needed. I would also make myself available for overnight if travel for business/pleasure was scheduled. I am quite capable and have the ability to multi-task. Household help and errands would certainly be part of my position as it would lend to the efficiency and happiness of the home.
