I started as a Nursing Assistant at 16 years old in an assisted living home. I worked with a mix of patients with numerous diagnosis, including psych patients. I got my C.N.A License at 17. I've worked in Nursing homes, as well as in-patient physical therapy. I'm well rounded and have knowledge and experience with transfers, bathing, toiling, range of motion, hotter lifts, transportation and any other activities of daily living with the elderly, young adults and children with disabilities. I started doing P.C.A work five years ago when my nephew was diagnosed with Autism. Since then I have done P.C.A work for him as we'll as my grandmother and mother-in-law while they underwent chemo and radiation. I also cared for a young female in her late 20's who was diagnosed with MD. I helped her do everything right in her own home; transfers, grooming, bathing, taking her out shopping, (which she loved to do a lot of) tanning, you name it. She was like a sister to me in the short time I had her. She ended up moving too far away for me to travel. We still keep in touch. Companionship is what I love most about this job as well as making my clients feel good about themselves. I'm upbeat and energetic! I'm also a hair stylist so this is a plus for my clients having their very own stylist care for them daily! Right now I do hair a couple days a week and also care for my autistic nephew before school and a few nights a week. I also do back up P.C.A for an elderly woman with Rheumatoid Arthritis and a man with Parkinson's Disease. I am a very quick learner and I'm great at multitasking as well as cleaning. I enjoy working with all ages, but I can say I really enjoy working with children, teens and young adults. I feel it's easier to get to know and build a strong relationship with children and young adults mid 30's and younger. I feel we can relate with one another, seeing as though I'm 27. But again, I enjoy all clients and have experience with both.
