For the past six years, I have successfully taught a 4th/5th grade moderate/severe special day class in Pleasant Hill, CA. Teaching special education is my passion in life and each year I fall more in love with my profession. My classroom consists of 9 amazing students each year and I have worked with a variety of disabilities (i. e. intellectual disabilities, Down syndrome, Autism, traumatic brain Injury, etc.). My classroom is successful due to my organization, consistent expectations and routine, well planned lessons, and love for teaching. I received my Bachelor's degree from CSU Chico, and my Teaching credential from Saint Mary's College in Moraga. During my years before teaching I worked as a math tutor, a day camp director in Japan, a day camp counselo in Sicily, a coordinator for the unified school district, and a camp counselor for 5 years. When I am not working with children, you might find me scrap booking, planning art projects, spending time on Pinterest, drinking a Chai Latte at Starbucks, spending time with my cat, or riding my bike.
