I was a nanny to a 7-month-old who had two open-heart surgeries and has an artificial valve. His vocal chords were paralyzed on one side during the intubation and he required medications and special feeding care. By God's grace, he eventually graduated to eating upright and taking regular food. I have not received special training but I am patient, loving, have a desire to learn sign language and am willing to work with children who are "differently-abled".
