Hi, my name is Kathy. I was a caregiver for 14 years to my mom who had Parkinson's disease (she passed away in 2010). My top priority was to make sure she kept her dignity and always get her out and about - having fun. I bathed, fed, clothed, took her to all doctor's appointment (speech, physical therapy, massage etc.), took her on daily walks, picnics, field trips to apple orchards, museums. Even on days when she'd tell me that her legs weren't working, I'd always remind her that if we put our 2 heads together - we could do anything! I am very hands-on, and have lots of energy, and an abundance of love and tenderness to give. I truly believe people of all ages (young or old) should be treated with TLC and respect. I know this type of work can be challenging - I have found it to be rewarding on so many levels. Knowing that you're making a difference in someone's life - that's what it's all about for me. I used to sit behind a desk and work on a computer all day. Then I started to work for my mom - and my heart grew. I am a mother with 2 adult kids. I was born and raised in Arlington, VA (right outside of Washington, DC). My daughter moved to Las Vegas a few years ago. She's going to have a baby in August and they asked me to be a part of it! I have some extra time on my hands and would like to make a difference in someone's life that you know and love. Thanks!
