My experience in working with special needs children and adults, is extremely important to me. I grew up working with my cousin that lives with autism. Learning from her my entire life has been a huge learning experience. Another large part of my life was working as a Sunday School teacher every week. I had this volunteer position for 7 years of my life. Every year I had 2-3 children with special needs that I learned from. Finally, for the past 3 summers, I have spent a week working at a week long camp specifically for special needs adults and seniors. I truly believe working with these incredible individuals is my calling in life. Yet, I am still learning about all of the different conditions, I learn extremely quickly. I would be honored to learn more and be able to help others simultaneously.
