I have volunteered with Special Olympics a few times. During high school, I took part in a program where we would play/interact/help the special needs students. I have a 5-year-old non-verbal Autistic cousin who I took care of everyday over the summer of 2013. I fed him, bathed him, took him out in the community to play at parks, etc. I've always been passionate about working with children that have developmental disabilities, I'm currently studying psychology so I will be able to work with children with disabilities full-time. After I came to college, my aunt realized that she may need someone to watch my special needs cousin over the summer and that terrifies her because you hear all kinds of stories about disabled children being treated badly. I completely understand the feeling of being scared to allow someone to watch your child with a disability. If hired, I promise your child would be in loving care.

Katelyn, is a very dependable and fun loving young lady. She has been a god send for our family. She has taken care of our son off and on for the past 5 years that has Autism and our off and on for 10 years with our typically developing son. She is very patient and understanding. She is great with special needs kiddos and has a lot of experience. Highly recommend her! - Carrie
