Why do I enjoy care giving? It's the one job I can do where everyday is new and different. As each person is unique, so is our experience together. And it satisfies my medical interests as well. I've found that I learn so much from others life experiences, since they are bound to differ from my own. Being respectful the journey they are on, and genuinely interested in each individual, I can bring a sense of joy and eagerness for a new day. My number one priority is keeping your loved one(s) safe. As a trained nursing assistant, knowing what to do allows me to make your loved one feel safe. That's key to being a calming factor, in any situation. For the past 15 years, I've been licensed home health aide paraprofessional and a Nursing Assistant, Registered. As an HHA, I provide compassionate in-home care for geriatric, chronically ill or developmentally disabled adults and children. That includes companionship, cooking, cleaning, errands as needed and assisting with personal needs and, day or night. As a Nursing Assistant, I've worked in many local hospitals, group homes, nursing homes and memory care units. Some things I've learned are as follows: Manage patients' needs & health: responsible for charting vitals/medication administration, keep fully aware of patient's condition & report any significant changes or emergencies to nursing staff. Match interpersonal skills of staff to appropriate clients for best patient care. Multitask/Re-prioritize as needed: take action and provide support for staff and clients whenever/wherever needed. Support nursing staff in hospitals and long-term care facilities. Use refined people skills and a sense of humor to create a positive work and patient care environment and to motivate others. Self-improvement with continued education, emphasis on Memory Care and Developmentally Disabled to provide best patient care possible. Being a mature woman of 58, I have a work ethic a mile wide, am extremely dedicated and trustworthy, evidenced by 30+ years of work experience. I am flexible and always interested. I'd love to hear from you. Given the opportunity, you'd be able to judge for yourself by the response from your loved one. I know you would be pleased!
