For the past seven years, I have worked as a Caregiver. My responsibilities included cooking and preparing meals, distribution of medication, assisting residents with daily personal care goals, providing transportation to daily events and assisting in daily hygiene (bathing and assisting the residents dress). The main reason why I am so passionate about caring for people with intellectual and physical disabilities is because I believe that a person is not defined by their disabilities. Over the years, each one of my residents have taught me how to never take a day for granted, embrace life with an open mind and to love the ones that enter your path daily.
