I am a retired elementary school teacher with a Master's degree in Special Education, with 13 years of paid experience in private and public schools. Seven of my 13 years of service were as a certified special education teacher with one year as a paraprofessional in a local school district's developmental peer-model preschool program. I have had enriching teaching experiences with students with autism, Asperger's syndrome, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, ADD/ADHD, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, developmental delays, hydrocephaly, visual impairments, pervasive personality disorders, and speech/language delays. I have a special affinity toward children with ADHD since I have a son with the diagnosis, and Down syndrome since I have a granddaughter with the diagnosis. I home-schooled my 7 children before and after my public/private school experiences for 17 years. Currently, I am helping my husband with his real estate brokerage, along with being a grandmother to six grandchildren, ages 4 months to 12 years.
