I have work in the field of developmental disabilities since 2006. I began my career as a one-to-one staff member for children aged 5-21 living in a neuro-behavior stabilization unit. In the role, I coached the children through age- and developmentally-appropriate self-care, vocational, and academic tasks. Currently, I provide behavior services for adults with mental illness, secondary to developmental disabilities. I also provide individual and small-group counseling and social skills training. In these roles, I have worked with children and adults with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, fragile X, dementia, and many other special needs. In addition to my professional experience, I have also provided babysitting services to families with children with special needs, including autism, Trisomy 9p, and Asperger's disorder. I greatly enjoy working with the special needs population, and am experienced in the field. Helping to teach individuals the skills that they need to live more independent lives is very rewarding. I hold a Masters in School Psychology and I am pursuing my Educational Specialist degree to complete my certification as a School Psychologist. I am available in the evenings and on the weekends.
