Since 2009, I have been an Instructional Assistant for the Santa Barbara County Education Office helping persons with developmental disabilities, severe handicaps, and mental health disorders, including juvenile delinquents requiring rehabilitation ages preschool to adult with disabilities such as but not limited to blindness, deafness, paralysis, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, epilepsy, et al. Making a difference in the lives of the people I encounter is what satisfies me most since I have dedicated myself to the care of others who have specific needs. With my experience in the field of education as a tutor, I feel that I am able to maximize that impact in the achievement of my students' goals. Fostering the ability to teach another how to eat, providing hygiene assistance or establishing a daily routine is paramount to their livelihood, which I can accomplish with my ability to identify their needs and communicate according to their cognitive level.
