I have an older sister with Cerebral Palsy. It has been through her, along with many other children, that I have discovered my passion for working with special needs children. Growing up, I always helped her with her school work (even taught her to write her name), changed her, assisted in bathing and her therapy. I worked on a special needs school bus and had an exciting opportunity to work with children of all ages with a wide range of diagnoses. It was an amazing experience where I fell in love with so many children and their beautiful, unique personalities while learning an abundance of knowledge about them. As much as I enjoyed that job, it unfortunately, didn't work out with my school schedule. I also volunteer with several Autistic children at my church occasionally. I am currently looking for an employment opportunity where I can work with children again on a more constant basis with a schedule that can fit my school schedule.
