I get my passion for caring for special needs children from my mom. She is a wonderful L. D./E. D. teacher for elementary age children and I have often helped in her classroom. While I don't have any official training in this field, I have a lifetime of watching and learning from my mom. I am patient, understanding, and know how to handle almost any situation. What I am most comfortable with are children with Down's Syndrome. I have been the auntie of a delightful boy with Down's for almost 12 years and have watched him at least once a month for 6 years.
