Two years ago, I got a new job that completely changed my life. I began to work with an Autistic 13-year-old. The child I worked with has pretty severe Autism, he has limited verbal abilities, but he is such a joy to work with. While I am away at college, I continue to work with the family. I work to entertain him, take him to therapy, prepare his gluten-free diet and help him with therapy exercises at home. Working with him has been such a life-changing experience and I wouldn't change it for anything. I absolutely love working with children who have special needs. I feel like I take more from a job when I am pressured to do new things and learn and that is exactly what that child has given me the chance to do.
