I have been my mom's guardian and she lived with me for over 20 years - she suffered from a stroke and resulting brain damage in her 30's. All though she is ambulatory, her care involved cognitive impairment and memory loss. My experience also includes employment with the Mentor Group working at a residential home-care facility caring for 4 adult women with different care needs. I am very comfortable with dealing with all kinds of cognitive impairment, memory loss, medication control, taking vitals, wound care and engaging the people I am caring for. I am also experienced with c-pap and bi-pap. My driving record is impeccable - I am a safe and insured driver. I have been blessed with an abundance of patience and am upbeat, with a good sense of humor. I believe that everyone is entitled to be treated with dignity regardless of status in life. I enjoy helping special needs and older adults. I believe in the golden rule: treat everyone as you would want to be treated.
