I worked with adults/children with disabilities for the past year (03/10-03/11). I absolutely love this population. Disabilities do not define people, people define themselves. I loved all my clients. They had something to teach me just as much as I had something to teach them. I inspired my clients not to let their disability get in the way of their goal but to motivate them in every way. I was a nanny for a an 8 year old boy who had severe autism. I assisted him in daily living, speech and language therapy and worked with speech therapist to help advance his speech.
