I have taken special education units way back. I have volunteered in a special education class for 2 months and I have been a nanny of a non verbal autistic 9-year-old boy for a month and a half. I can not say I know immediately what to do with a child, because it's a case to case basis. A particular approach may work for one kid but may not work for another kid. It is a matter of building rapport, trust and understanding. I hope I will be given a chance to know the child.
