I have been a volunteer camp counselor and a paid summer staff member of a Association and a Camp. I have experience with direct care and behavioral issues with kids ages 4-16 who have cerebral palsy, Spina Bifida, childhood cancer, muscular dystrophy, severe food allergies, Down syndrome, autism and so on. I am currently an outreach intern at area hospitals, bringing fun activities to children who are receiving treatment in the facilities. I will be attending graduate school in August 2014 to begin my master's degree in Therapeutic Recreation and I hope to continue to work with children with special needs, including both physical disabilities and developmental/cognitive. It is my passion to help provide a happy, fulfilling, "no limits" experience for all the kids I work with in my field and I have a huge place in my heart for anyone whose life has been touched by children with special needs.
