Prior to relocating to Florida this year, I was active in caring for MRDD adults and seniors in Columbus Ohio. The scope of my responsibilities include helping patients stay physically active, develop and nurture independent living skills, personal hygiene, as well as appropriate social interaction with others, transporting and accompanying patients to medical and other appointments outside the home. Also, if necessary, handling crisis intervention of a physical or emotional nature. In addition, my CPR and First Aid certifications are current. I also have experience as a Group Home Manager for MRDD adults, responsible for the daily management and coordination of the resident's personal and medical care and concerns; also purchasing/ordering of groceries/supplies, and meal planning. Other responsibilities included encouraging and facilitating independent living skills, personal hygiene, appropriate social interaction.
