I currently work at a facility resource as a direct care service provider for adults with special needs. I have been there for 4 months and I already love my job. My clients are the best! Once they told me what it was that I would be doing I was ecstatic. This is definitely the job field for me, I have the perfect personality for it. But what we do at resources is provide direct care for our clients such as making sure their fed, toileted and changed, and very well taken care of throughout the day. I always make sure my clients come first, no matter what. I also have some experience with juvenile diabetes (type 1), due to the fact that I found out that almost 4 years ago that my 5 year old sister was diagnosed with it. Scariest day of my life. She had just slipped into a minor coma right before we took her to the hospital. I was devastated, but I knew I had to do what I had to do to help my little sister live a long a long and healthy life. So I learned how to give her insulin and check her glucose, it wasn't easy for her or me (especially her) but we did it and we're doing it, she's my little soldier. :).
