I am currently in graduate school earning my doctorate in Occupational Therapy and hope to one day work with people with disabilities. I have done everything from substitute teach in special education classrooms to being private home therapy aide working on activities of daily living and ABA behavior plans. I have worked with people of all ages with a variety of disabilities, including, but not limited to, Autism, CP, ALS, developmental delays, emotionally disturb, and those with a mental health diagnosis. I love working with people and am actually more comfortable working with those with special needs. While each day may be challenging working with individuals with special needs, I find it incredibly rewarding and it is simply something I love to do. I have learned more about myself and humanity working with this specific population than I have with any other and constantly find myself growing as a person and professional. Likewise, it was by working with a child with special needs that led me to find occupational therapy as a career, which is something that I am so immensely grateful for because I love every second of my job.
