I recently moved from Hawaii where I was studying Speech Pathology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I have a nephew who had a speech impediment and observed his therapy for one year before moving to Hawaii and switching from my journalism major over to Communicative Disorder. He is my joy and inspiration for choosing a thrilling and meaningful career. I additionally have many nieces and nephews who are between the ages 2-14 whom I've babysat for over 10 years. I am in absolute fascination with children at different stages. It is a time of increasing knowledge, carefree imagination, and extreme laughter. Children, when given the right tools and encouragement, have endless possibilities. In 2007, I moved to Mexico for a year to aide my grandmother who had Alzheimer's disease. It was a new and challenging experience that changed my life and ultimately shaped my decision to study Psychology. I have a natural zest for helping people and can see myself doing nothing else.
Bachelor's, 2014
