I have performed several errands and clerical needs for someone who has a chronic illness the limits their mobility on occasions. I also cared for her child (fed, bathed, and played games/activities) when she was unable to due to her illness. Working in special needs program in a middle school setting has made me familiar with several disabilities: sickle cell anemia, autism, emotional behavior disorder, learning disability, and a few more. I worked with a team of three individuals (including myself) in creating lesson plans to teach living skills, social skills, and academics. In addition to this, I was a counselor for a year. Both of these job opportunities have instilled several character traits that enables me to be a great caregiver: compassion, empathy, motivator, teacher, patience, active listener, engager, and so much more!
