Hi, my name is Colleen and I am 25. I was a nanny for two years, for a couple with an 11-year-old boy with spina bifida, and his 6-year-old sister. This lasted until the boy moved up to live with his father in another state. I have a 21-year-old brother with apraxia, and I've volunteered at a respite we had at my church, until those who attended, moved away/found one closer to them. We had a few families driving more than an hour and a half, to come to our facility. I've helped with 2-3-year-old Sunday school for about 10 years now; started doing it because a boy with cerebral palsy wanted to go to Sunday school, so I was his one-on-one person. I am currently an ABA therapist working with a 17-year-old boy with severe Autism, CP and Epilepsy, working on His schooling with Him. As well as a nanny for a 7-year-old boy in the afternoons during the school year. My dream is to specialize in special needs and fine art photography, and to one day open an art gallery.
