I have assisted parents with children with learning disabilities with such things as reinforcing motor skills, speech and recognition exercises. I am very careful to pay attention to details and emphasize learning in every situation like singing the alphabet and other songs that promote learning basic skills. I allow the child to do things for themselves so that they can gain confidence in what they are doing. For instance, putting on or removing shoes or unzipping their jacket. To some children, this comes easy but to those who have difficulty with this it is a big accomplishment when they can do it themselves.
