I have been working with special needs children for about 8 years now. It all started with babysitting a boy that had Downs syndrome. I loved seeing the growth and the progress he had made throughout the years I babysat him. Throughout my senior year of high, I ate breakfast everyday with an autistic boy. Not only did it make my day but it also made his. I am currently attending college to works towards my degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been working as a teacher assistant in elementary schools in special education classes (autism, severe disabilities, mild intelligence, moderate intelligence, ed classrooms). I am passionate about special needs children because I love seeing the growth that they make and how they show me that they can overcome anything. These kids that I have worked with over the years have truly made me who I am today. Everyone around me can see how truly passionate I am with kids that have special needs. Through the years teachers, administration and colleagues have told me that I have a gift with kids and kids with special needs. I have an incredible amount of experience and look forward to making differences in these kids lives.
