I love special needs students! I work as a special ed paraeducator for Montgomery county schools (this is my second year). Right now I work with low-functioning students who are on the autism spectrum. Some are verbal, some communicate through sign, but they all "exhibit aggressive and destructive behaviors". It amazes me how hard people with special needs work to get to a place where they can function everyday, and my students always make me smile. I've learned to really appreciate even the smallest accomplishments, and I love seeing their progress. I can provide care Wednesdays and Fridays after 3 p.m., and anytime Saturdays and Sundays.
