In sixth grade, I started working with the LFI students, I did it for service hours. Twice a week, I would spend about 40 minutes in a classroom, outside, in a sensory room, or around the school doing homework, crafts or working on motor skills. I fell in love with working with these students. It became much more than service hours. In ninth and tenth grade, I attended the special sports event and helped athletes. Fall of my junior year (which is my current grade), I started volunteering with the 4-h therapeutic horse riding program. I worked twice a week for about 3 hours. In school, I continue to visit the students during our student enrichment time. I love working with special needs children and adults because it's rewarding, fun, and they have a special place in my heart. My senior year I will be going to the Tech Center and getting my CNA (certified nursing assistant). After I graduate high school, I plan to become a registered nurse and starting my career. Then, I plan to go back to school to specialize in special needs care and research. Any opportunities, I can get to work with these amazing people are great and I look forward to them. I am also willing to learn any skills that I may not have yet. Thank you for any consideration.
