I have training in Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy and have worked with children that have developmental delays. Along with that job I faced many challenges that come with children who suffer from autism and like disorders such as but not limited to; self destructive behavior, resistance to eating, low gross motor and fine motor skills, and the inability to communicate verbally. To help communicate more successfully in all social settings I am learning American Sign Language which is most frequently taught to young ones having difficulty verbalizing. Considering my previous experiences I am confident I can meet any new challenges that come my way.
