I obtained my Bachelor of Art's degree in psychology from Keene State College in December of 2013 and my goal is to obtain a graduate level degree in child, family, and school psychology as to continue with work I am passionate about. I love working with children, both typical and atypical, and the field of psychology is a passion of mine. To this end I'm trying to acquire experience with a variety of populations as well as research experience to help me develop a greater proficiency in this area. I am particularly interested in working with youth and their families and becoming familiar with the settings in which learning and development occur. I've developed an interest in addressing the growing concerns for meeting the educational and developmental needs of children based upon the idea that an interdependent relationship exists among school, family, and society and for that reason those working within educational settings need to be aware of the impact of culture, ethnicity, gender, history, values, and economics upon the lives of children and families. In the upcoming months (March - August) before I attend graduate school at the University of Denver I will be welcoming the opportunity to become involved in the lives of children, either as a nanny or as a mentor. I have experience as a nanny and references to illustrate the passion I have for working with children. In addition to my experiences as a nanny I have experience working as an intern to a school psychologist and a background in psychology that I see as very beneficial to how I interact and play with the children in my care.
