Hi. I have volunteered with people with varying disabilities for the past 9 years. Last summer, I worked at a summer camp with children with autism and, after that experience, decided that I wanted to make a career helping children and adults with disabilities. I am attending college to become an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher. For the past nine years, I have been a best friend and a mentor for a young girl with visual impairments; she is completely blind. We have gone to movies, parks, swimming, and just hung out together. We have both learned so much! I graduated from high school with a 4.2 GPA and have won awards for my citizenship and scholarship. My current GPA in college is a 4.0. I love working with children and adults with varying abilities and disabilities. I choose to focus on what people can do, not what they cannot do.
