In my most recent experience, I worked with a non-verbal child with Apert syndrome to help him communicate using a TouchChat program on his Ipad. I also recently did an internship for speech pathology in a center-based school. There, I did individual and group therapy with over 17 children that were from the SCI and autism classroom. Lastly, a few years ago I worked with a teenager with a language delay in a private clinic as a speech pathology intern. These were all amazing experiences for me and working with children with disabilities has become my passion in life. I think it all started when I was young since I have experience growing up around people with a variety of disabilities (family members). Also, I have taken several college courses on/pertaining to working with people with special needs. One day my career will be helping people with speech/language disorders and related disabilities. I pride myself in being good at catering to a persons' individual needs regardless of their disability.
