To me, special needs care often, not always, translates into high needs care. Children who, for a myriad of reasons, seem to require more attention, support, and energy than their siblings or peers and who can often be a challenge and a mystery to their own families. I specialize in caring for children who fit this category with either/both their physical and emotional needs. I have the presence, understanding and calm to work with kids who are struggling on any level and the knowledge of how to help families better integrate a differently colored sheep. I have also studied pre and perinatal psychology and worked with many families whose children have had difficult birthing experiences. Gestation and birth are very formative experiences, and sometimes emotional or physical challenges are the outcome of a medically involved or unusual gestation/birth. It is enormously helpful to have those issues addressed early, when they have been problematic. My specialty is infant/toddler care, but I have worked with all ages of children. My most recent special needs care giving has been with a 10-year-old boy diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome.

Amy is an amazing person, my daughter likes her at the first time, it is really surprised me since she has autism and doesn't like to talk with a stranger. Amy has her way to encourage her, she is a teacher for both my daughter and myself! I feel so relaxed and comfortable to leave my daughter at home with her!
