I have helped to care and cared for children with special needs. I have cared for both verbal and non verbal children. Every weekend for a few years, I had helped to care for a boy with special needs. I enjoyed taking him into the community and helping him with his social skills, as well as just playing with him at home or in the back yard.

I have worked at a summer school camp with children on the autism spectrum for the past seven summers. I have also worked one-on-one with a student on the spectrum for two years. I am sensitive, patient, and appreciate a strict schedule to reenforce the student's/child's needs.

I have been an employee for The Kennedy Center for almost 16 years and have a great deal of experienced with behavior issues and maintaining great relationships with people who might seem a bit challenging. I also have a relative who has exhibited behaviors that need compassion and understanding and I have given every effort along those lines.

I am an active 56-year-old who loves being a nanny! I am the kind of nanny who gets down on the floor and plays, sings and reads. I love to climb, go down slides and play in the sand box right along the children I am caring for and if you have a pool, I am not afraid to get my hair wet and swim with the kids. I am a safe driver with a clean driving record, so you will have no worries if you need me to run errands or take your precious little ones to school, doctor appointments or play group. While the baby naps or if there is quiet time, I don't sit. If you have laundry to do, I'll get it done. A kitchen to clean, I'll do it! I have been a nanny for the past 18 months for a wonderful 22-month-old boy and their 4 dogs. His parents would be happy to speak with you in regard to their experience with me as their son's nanny. I have also been hired to help with grandchildren on family vacations and lovingly have been called the play lady. My caring spirit, enthusiasm and connection that I have with children is so evident in person. Children have always been an important part of my life. The following information will outline my professional experiences. After graduating with a BS degree in Recreation, I worked as a camp director for children with special needs. I developed and implemented a therapeutic recreation program on a pediatric and rehabilitation unit at a general hospital. After the birth of my daughter, I opened a specialty toy store which I successfully ran for 21 years. I love toys, books, arts and crafts, games, puzzles and sports. I love to play. After selling the store, I worked 2 years in a high school special education department, developing a work study program for students with special needs. I relocated 2 years ago to Florida to be near by aging father and was fortunate to be hired as a nanny. Hello there, I am a kind, responsible, outgoing, reliable caretaker. I recently graduated from SCSU with a bachelors degree in criminology and sociology, looking for some part time work and family to help assist. All four years of high school I have worked in a group called "best buddies" working with special needs children after school. Secondly, I worked with Unified Sports with special needs children on sport teams all over the state of CT. I have worked with numerous families around CT with 1-9 children, with special needs or not. I have had the families come to my house or I got to their house. I have a lot of experience with newborns up to the age of 17. Home care needs, dog walking, nannying, driving, errands, you name it.

I have 5 years of experience. I can help with Travel and Laundry. most of my experience is with special needs children as well as kids with ADHD. Although i'm not officially certified, I can handle emergency situations as well as taking care of children with minor medical needs.

Hi families, I'm Diana and I'm a Connecticut native. My child care experience expands across all age groups including special needs. I find such joy in being a positive mentor in a child's life. I love hide and seek, board games, crafts and music. I currently work as an ABA therapist at an Autism Clinic for children ages 1-7. I am also a first year graduate student at SCSU in their Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program!

Over the past 16 years, I've cared for numerous people with different medical issues. Some of those issues include Alzheimer's/dementia, blindness, loss of hearing and different levels of mobility. For my clients I will prepare meals, do light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, errands, transport to doc apts, assist w/toiletry/bathing & dressing, give &/or prompt meds, be a patient & friendly companion & encourage proper activity, including PT/OT carry-over as needed. I've nursed patients (2) back to health from a fall and a broken hip. I enjoy taking care of people & often develop special relationships with each of them. I teach Special Education grades K-5 during the school year. I am available to assist after school or on weekends. I love being a Special Education teacher and would love to help out a family at home if needed.

I have great compassion and empathy, as well as a special bond, with animals, the sick, elderly, and disabled. I have worked with many seniors, as well as the disabled, for over 20 years. I work in a group home for the disabled here in NC (& previously in CT), helping them to live as independently as possible. I was also a veterinary technician for over 10 years.
