Seeking care for my grandfather in his 90s. Services needed: companionship, bathing / dressing, meal preparation, medication prompting, help staying physically active, mobility assistance, light housekeeping, errands / shopping. No prior experience required. A little more about my grandfather: he can be independent. Glen is a retired school teacher/ principal. He also used to live on the River and enjoyed outdoors and traveling most every state in the US! Glen also was an avid woodworker. Most every piece of furniture in their home was handcrafted by him! He loves to tell stories about teaching, being in the Navy, and all of his grand travel adventures!
He is very independent, but here recently he is losing some mobility. He showers and dresses himself (may have to help with shoes). Most days include cat naps, and lots of reading. Oh, and sometimes he just likes to get out and go grab a milkshake!
He has developed some dementia, but it is mostly only seen when trying to remember short term occurrences. Sometimes gets a little turned around on the layout of the house! We need someone patient, that enjoys hearing stories, that can give our loved one quality care and love! We are looking for different shifts of people day, evening, over night. Some family members do come and stay with him daytime a couple days during the week. We just need 24/7 care and haven't had good luck with big company nursing teams.
