Seeking care for my father in his 100's. Services needed: companionship, bathing / dressing, meal preparation, medication prompting, help staying physically active, mobility assistance, light housekeeping, errands / shopping. No prior experience required. Specialized care needs: support for memory care. A little more about my father: he can be pleasant, independent. A healthy 101-year-old. Minimal medical issues. Short term memory loss worse in evenings.
Very friendly, likes to joke and tell stories. Can have periods of irritability if overly tired. I'm looking for someone who is patient, strong. Looking for live-in caregiver, all expenses paid, plus weekly stipend. Primary Caregiver will have alternate replacement caregiver relief during each week. Caregiver will have own bedroom and private bath in beautifully renovated, rural countryside home. Dad likes his private time so caregiver will be able to leave for short periods for other personal activities. Caregiver must have a loving heart for a senior citizen WWII vet. Additional perks will be discussed with the right candidate, male or female. Our family works hand in hand with the caregiver and we are flexible in meeting caregivers needs while arranging for their time away from dad.
We are looking for someone who has the ability to remain with dad until God takes him home, or a catastrophic event dictates advanced care needs.
Dad sleeps a lot , but when awake loves to play cards, and enjoys chatting. He uses a walker and gets himself around to the bathroom and for exercise.
Caregiver would meet hygiene needs, meals and laundry with light housekeeping. Family would get him to out of home appointments, sometimes requiring caregiver assistance. Family Doctor comes to our home. Dad seldom leaves the house.
15 minutes in any direction is full shopping and entertainment.
