I have quadriplegia at C5 from a spinal cord injury and need hands-on care to take care of myself in Lakewood. Most of your responsibilities will be helping with bathing, dressing and transfers with a Hoyer. However, some light tidying up is involved. We're also looking for some help preparing meals. About who needs care: Mom had a bad fall and is recovering from a broken left arm and a broken right wrist. Because of the incedent it seems to have brought on high anxiety & depression that she had struggled with about 12 yrs ago. She finally overcame her issues for the past 7 years and was able to enjoy life. Now we are dealing with her after the accident and surgery on her arm she is having to be treated for insomnia and high anxiety & depression with meds. Because of the meds Mom is having a hard time with her balance right now and Mom is having a really hard time being able to concentrate on much of anything. She has enjoyed painting playing piano doing word search puzzles. Her ideal day would be to get ready for the day read some go visit her friend once or twice a week. Do some exercises. Help out in the kitchen About the care needs: Mom gets along best with someone that is patient gentle kind cheerful. we are thinking Mom would need someone that could sit with her at night beings she is struggling with insomnia & beings she is off balance she needs help getting to and from bathroom Mom would like someone to read to her or do some easy crafts or do somethings that would help her relax Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance. Home health care needed to assist quadriplegic male. Patient is 6'3 and 215 lbs - please do not contact if you are unable to assist someone of this size (he has some mobility/strength in arms and legs so that helps with transfers). Ideally you have experience or training as a nurse or similar, or have worked with patients with spinal cord injuries. We have other nurse so shifts are flexible and we can accommodate schedules, as long as each day is covered. Care consists of a morning and evening shift. The morning shift starts around 7:30-9 a.m. and takes 2 hours, requires helping patient out of bed, bowel program, showering, and dressing. Once patient is back in his chair, he's self sufficient until bedtime. The evening shift starts 8-9 p.m. and takes about an hour- consists of getting patient changed and into bed.

I'm looking for periodic transportation services and companion care for my mother in her 90s. Drive to/from appointments and assistance negotiating hallways/elevators of medical facility. Mom uses a walker but is otherwise physically able. Mentally sharp but sometimes needs some friendly redirection. Some good conversations likely along the drives. Though infrequent, I'm hoping to find someone who will be come familiar and trusted for her.
