CARE.COM'S NEW DATE NIGHT APP PROVIDES ON-DEMAND SITTERS FOR BUSY PARENTS

Waltham, MA, October 5, 2015 – Care.com (NYSE: CRCM), the world’s largest online destination for finding and managing family care, today announced the launch of its first transactional app, Date NightSM by Care.com, which provides a comprehensive experience for parents looking for an occasional babysitter. The Date Night app offers time-starved parents the ability to plan a complete date night with ease -- from finding, interviewing, booking, and paying available sitters, to securing restaurant reservations through OpenTable and worry-free movie tickets through Fandango.
“We know one of the biggest pain points for parents – especially dads – is planning their date nights and lining up the babysitter is one of the hardest parts,” said Sheila Lirio Marcelo, Founder, Chairwoman and CEO of Care.com. “Our new Date Night app makes everything easier so parents can get out more.”
The Date NightSM by Care.com app, available for free in the Apple Store, provides an end-to-end experience integrating live video interviews with potential sitters; scheduling and calendaring; access to the resources of Care.com’s Safety Center and background check options; booking and payments; and the ability to make restaurant reservations and purchase movie tickets.
According to a recent Care.com Date Night Survey, 85% of parents would like to have more date nights, yet 30% say their last date night was six months ago or longer; and more than half of the parents surveyed said that finding reliable child care was the hardest part of planning a night out. Additionally, more than one-third of moms surveyed typically plan date nights but 67% wish their partner would take on that role.
“Managing child care has traditionally been handled by moms but more and more, we’re seeing parents share the caregiving responsibilities,” said Marcelo. “This is especially true among millennials and when you combine that with their affinity for on-demand services, we believe that our Date Night app will appeal to both moms and dads alike.”
