CARE.COM ANNOUNCES HOMESTAFFPROTECT
-- Establishes First Workers' Compensation Product for Nanny Employers --
Waltham, MA - January 9, 2013 - Care.com (http://www.care.com/), the largest online care destination in the world, and its subsidiary, Breedlove, today announced the launch of HomeStaffPROTECTSM, the first workers' compensation product built for families with nannies. Available exclusively to clients of Breedlove, the nation's leading household payroll and tax service, HomeStaffPROTECT streamlines the application process, from real-time quotes to claim support, to meet the unique needs of today's families.
"Workers' compensation insurance is required in a majority of states for household employers," said Stephanie Breedlove, Founder of Breedlove. "In a growing number of states, however, it has become difficult for families to find an affordable, stand-alone policy. We're excited to have solved that problem for our clients."
Workers' compensation insurance provides financial assistance to employees who have a work-related injury or illness. The benefits assist with lost wages as well as medical expenses. In addition, it helps protect employers from lawsuits since an employee who has been injured on the job generally forfeits the option to sue his or her employer, regardless of fault.
"Whether families are required to carry a workers' comp policy or elect to do so, we're now able to guide them to an excellent solution during our enrollment process as part of our relationship with PMC Insurance Group," Breedlove continued. "We don't make any money or receive any commissions on these policies. We helped PMC develop this product as a convenience to our busy clientele. We wanted our families to have easy access to quality coverage at a great price."
