Play-based curricula takes into account one of the most important things that researchers have discovered about young children - play is children’s work. Through exploring their environment, role playing, acting out scenarios, and experimenting in any number of ways children learn about the world around them, their role in it, and their relationship to others.
How are we inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach?
By using a process-oriented approach to our explorations of art, music, cooking, and other activities

The Whole Child Preschool

16129 Via Harriet, San Lorenzo, CA

Starting at $20/hr

We are a brand new daycare with a preschool program serving families in the San Lorenzo area. The preschool is operated by Teacher Pamela, an innovative, experienced and proactive teacher with 49 units in Early Childhood Education (ECE). Teacher Pamela has experience working both as a preschool music teacher in Cupertino and as a pre-K teacher in San Carlos. In addition, she completed her Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development in 2011 from Chabot College and is on the verge of completing her Bachelor's Degree in the evenings from San Francisco State University. Teacher Pamela's teaching philosophy is one that fosters hands-on, imaginative learning where projects and experiments are used to instill positivity, motivation and direction. She believes in empowering your child cognitively, socially and emotionally so that your child will be able to develop communication and leadership skills. Moreover, she genuinely seeks to discover and draw out the inner talents residing within your individual child.

We are very much a preschool/daycare that focuses on its children's development. This means that children are engaged in learning from the time they walk into our home until the time they are picked up. The curriculum is wide-ranging, non-stop and continuous because this is the way that children learn and develop during these ages. Their brains process much faster than adult brains so that the ideal way for them to learn the most amount possible is for their teachers to strive toward stimulating them at their own fast pace.

We operate Monday through Friday from 7:00am until 6:00pm with the preschool program in service from 8:00am until 12:00pm. We provide healthy meals and snacks daily and we go on field trips to the park. Please contact us to inquire further as we look forward to hearing from you.
