Student-centered Teaching Style
Avg response < 21 hrs
Over the past 13 years, I have taught piano, music theory, and music composition to a diverse group, including school-age children, college students, and adults of distinct backgrounds.
Prior to my grad school, I taught piano and music theory at Brooklyn Musical Arts and helped organize music concerts for students. Teaching over 40 students from various cultures and age groups made my teaching style highly adaptable. I believe teaching is finding the best way for students to master the material. Therefore, I place a high emphasis listening to what students really need and further guide them through their difficulties.
Finally, I am an experienced pianist and pipa player, regularly performing in a solo, accompaniment, and ensemble capacities. Overall, I am patient, empathetic, creative, and not afraid to learn.
