Seeking care for my father in his 80's. Services needed: bathing / dressing, medication prompting. No prior experience required. A little more about my father: he can be pleasant. My dad had a stroke two months ago. He has been in rehab. He came home last week. He is in a wheelchair. He lives with my mother. She's 79 he's 80. He needs assistance getting out of bed in the morning and into bed in the evening. He can walk with his walker with assistance. But needs to wear a therapy belt just in case. Ideally we would like someone who can get him ready for the day and help get him out of bed. And then again in the evening to get him ready for bed and into bed for the evening. Possible breakfast prep in the morning and dinner prep in the evening before getting him ready for bed. I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty, quiet, strong. Someone who is pleasant and kind. My dad is a sweet man. He is very easy to be around. The caregiver needs to be strong enough to guide him when he gets in and out of bed so he does not fall. If we can afford two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening- the extra duties might include walking my dad around the block in his wheelchair. Working with him with his fine motor skills. Quizzing him on his words. Very basic. Again, he is a pleasant man. He would be a joy to work with.
