I am needing someone to come and check on my Dad while I am out of town for the rest of the month. I just want to make sure he's okay. You can maybe spend an hour or two picking up the house and washing 1 load of clothes and making him something to eat if he wants. I will only need this like once a week for 3 weeks.

We need hands-on care to take care of myself in Defuniak Springs. Please be willing to do light housekeeping. Assistance with bathing is one of our requirements. Responsibilities include feeding. About the care needs: He loves to watch his old movies, and he needs some speech theraphy. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.

About who needs care: Parkinsons-like disorder. Requires helping patient safely to the bathroom (wheelchair assist with ability to provide help if she loses her balance getting into or out of the chair), lunch and snack preparation, and potentially some basic cleaning tasks (laundry, dishes). About the care needs: Strong enough to provide stability wheeling the chair over uneven surfaces like door thresholds. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.

About who needs care: Im setting up and account for my father, Michael. He has several health conditions and needs someone to check on him once a day. He has been falling due to a bad back and weak knees. He is supposed to get surgery once he is cleared from him doctor. About the care needs: Someone who is personable and caring. He is very stubborn about his independence and needs someone who will help him with daily chores, cooking, shopping, and general mobility. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.

About who needs care: 87yo with worsening difficulty with walking and standing due to leg pain and severe weakness. Fall prone, so caregiver will have to be strong and sturdy to prevent and help lift him if he falls. Almost completely house bound now. Bad hand tremor. Little if any memory issues but has had a mild stroke in past and speaks slowly. Prone to grouchiness but doesn't talk much and likes watching TV as he can't move around much. Wife is in relatively good health but has osteoporosis and can't assist him safely any longer. Due to pain and weakness, which is worse with standing, an ideal day is mostly lying in a recliner to watch television. About the care needs: No specialized skills but we are in need of Physical Strength to prevent falls and help lift him if he falls. Will have to enjoy news since dad likes watching it most of the day. Liberals need not apply or better have thick skin! A person who isn't constantly chatty would be best. He's always been a man of few words. Dads interests were hunting, and football. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.

About who needs care: Beginning stages of dementia. Has high blood pressure and heart arythmia. Takes meds and does really good. She is a fall risk, so I don't like to leave her alone anymore. She loves to watch movies, go outside if it is cool enough, and likes to take "sunday drives" so to speak. Just likes to ride and check out the scenery. LOL. She is pretty easy. She eats breakfast, watches tv, likes to go get a burger from a fast food joint now and then, watch a movie, then she goes to bed after dinner. About the care needs: Must be patient, she has dementia and will ask the same questions over and over. Must like dogs, we currently have 4 but one is a foster. No specialized skills are required. She is pretty easy. She just has trouble getting around and uses a cane. She moves pretty slow, so again, patience is required. No specific hobbies. She does like the history and movies. She does like a good conversation, so being able to carry on a decent conversation would be important. But, on the other hand, if you are an incessant talker, that would not be good either. She does like to watch her movies without a lot of chatter. Services needed include: companionship, and mobility assistance.

Mother does not need help moving about house but father need assistance rising from some chairs and when walking to restroom etc.. Father handles administering his medications with no help, mother needs help with the pills, taking blood pressure, and seeing meds are taken at proper times. Father needs guidance when moving from house to car when going to doctor appointments and in to doctor offices. 63 yr old son lives on premises and drives all to doctor visits. Ideal day: Rise from bed 7-7:30 a.m. Weigh both adults and record. Dress. Administer pills that require a 30 minute wait before eating. Take blood pressure and assist in diabetic requirements. Eat Breakfast. 7-7:30 Father to restroom duties. Move to living room, read paper, mail , etc.. Diabetic snacks for mother given at proper intervals. Lunch around 12-12:30 Doctor appointments as required. Mother to hair salon once a week. Assist if they wish to have an outing of shopping. Diabetic snacks in the afternoon. Have mother record blood sugar levels at 6 p.m. Dinner 6-6:30 p.m. and evening medications. About the care needs: Tolerant, upbeat, physically able to assist a 160 lb. male, Services needed include: companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
