Medication Prompting And Light Housekeeping Full-time Support Needed For My Father In Metter, GA.

Full Time
Seeking care for my father in his 70s. Services needed: companionship, feeding, medication prompting, help staying physically active, mobility assistance, transportation, light housekeeping, errands / shopping. Looking for someone with 5+ years of experience caring for seniors. Specialized care needs: CPR/first aid training, support for chronic illness, nursing experience. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my father: he can be pleasant, outgoing. My dad was diagnosed with throat cancer in June 2018. He has went through chemo and radiation but the treatments were not successful so he had to have a trachea put in then 2 wks later he had a laryngectomy. The laryngectomy was done on March 15, 2019 so he still has a lot of swelling which means he isn't able to use the remote that was provided to speak. He currently writes to talk and express his needs. He's pretty good with facial expressions as well:) He is a very determined individual and this is only a bump in the road for his recovery. We prefer someone that is familiar with trachea care. All his feedings and medication go through a G tube and he will continue with G tube here on out. He will have to re learn how to swallow. Home Health nurse comes 2 times a wk along with PT and OT. I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty, strong. My dad has the biggest heart if anyone I know. He is a joker and usually tells jokes but with no voice box at the moment that's difficult. We are looking for a positive individual to keep him going so he doesn't lose faith with his new life with a trachea. He will need motivation to get up and walk and do his exercises the Dr prescribed so he isn't couch potato for the remaining years of his life. For anyone that knows him, a couch potato is something he is not. He's a very creative man who loves to build things.. We lost our mom 6 years ago to cancer and it's been a real struggle for us all. Luckily he has found a lady (not much older than his oldest daughter) that loves and cares for him. We couldn't do this with out her. She knew him before he got sick and has stuck by his side ever since. She's truly an angel.
