Spring Hill Palliative Care

Personal caregiver for elderly couple the past nearly 3 years: he had Alzheimer's. Did shopping, light cleaning, meal prep, prepared medications, took to medical appointments. I worked Monday through Friday, with occasional time on weekends. I was a certified pharmacy technician for over 10 years, and do have some nursing classes under my belt. I try to be upbeat and make clients feel comfortable and happy. I strive to do my best in every situation.

I now live in the area of Spring Hill after recently relocating from Florida with my daughter. I'm just getting to know the area of middle Tennessee but, so far it's been a great change and we're happily adapting. Other than caring for my grandmother, I do have care giving experience. I looked after an elderly man for two yrs. In that time I came to hold him and his family very dear while gaining great appreciation and personal fulfillment. It inspired me to seek further work as a caregiver. Experience assisting during bath time, preparing meals and more. I can guarantee I'm reliable, compassionate, energetic and very dedicated. What I might now lack in experience in certain specific areas, I more than make up for with my drive and willingness. I find care giving to be a very rewarding career and I look forward to improving the quality of life of anyone needing support and assistance. My goal is to bring comfort and as much happiness as possible to the lives of those I can look after.

I started as a CNA at NHC. I then moved on to a home health agency. I have enjoyed every step of the way but have been most fulfilled with private long term relationships. They become family. I have been a private duty caregiver for the past 12 years. In that time, I have been blessed with the privilege to care for three families... relationships that I still hold dear today. Most of my experience has been with Alzheimer's/dementia related need. Caring for, loving and getting to know my patients is an incredible feeling and something I enjoy very much. The services I provide are bathing and dressing the patient, doing skin care assessments, preparing and feeding meals, obtaining vital signs, making sure they are clean and comfortable, listening and sharing in their lives. I'm a little on the OCD side so tidying up will always be provided. Will be happy to provide references. Since April, I have been diligently practicing social distancing. I believe that everyone eventually needs help. I believe that the elderly deserve respect and compassionate care in the least restrictive, safe and comfortable environment, usually their own home. I also love babies. I am a grandmother but my grandchildren live in another state. I will make ever effort to follow your instructions. I love rocking & nurturing, I am loving, patient and kind. Nancy
