I've enjoyed working within the special needs community for several years. I began my career 14 years ago as a one-on-one assistant for a young girl with Hurler syndrome. Over the year that I assisted her, I grew very close with her and her family. She was a truly special person and our relationship sparked a passion to work with the special needs community. In 2009-2011, I worked for the Head Start Program as a Behavior Support Person. I'm attending school pursuing a teaching degree and will only be available for part-time work. Summer time I'm available full-time. I enjoy spending time with children and love working close with families to ensure a happy and healthy environment. I have worked with children ranging from preschool to adulthood in various classroom and community settings. I also have experience caring for infants and toddlers as well. I have all my CPR/First Aid, Food Handler's and Child Abuse training as well as a standard background check here on Care. com.
